About me:
Amal Fares is a Syrian writer and translator, born in As-Suwayda in 1982.
Holds Venezuelan citizenship., and currently resides in New York, USA.
Translates from and into Spanish. Her articles have been published in several
Newspapers and Arabic websites, such as The Newarab, Haramon, Rommn,
Raseef 22, Al-Jumhuriya, Ultra Voice, Dahnon, abwab, Takween, Al-Quds Al-Arabi,
Jadaliyya and others. She started as a creative writer and then as a volunteer translator for
Global Voices since 2015.

- Founding member of the International PEN Association - Syrian Section
- Student at Monroe College in the Department of Arts and Humanities.
- Has completed a number of educational courses from Harvard University.

the supervision of Professor Isabel Valdoiu
